Welcome!
Hello, I'm Cressida (they). I'm a relational, humanist, somatic, trauma-focused social worker and psychotherapist of Russian and Germanic heritage. I have a background in community mental health, community arts, and social justice organizing. I'm nonbinary trans masc, white, and queer and have been practicing psychotherapy for six years.
I offer politicized psychotherapy services that centre systemic, structural analyses of trauma. Together we'll learn about the ongoing effects of trauma on our bodies, on our nervous systems, and on how we form connections. To support this work I draw on somatic experiencing, attachment theory, internal family systems, EMDR, and expressive arts practices. These strategies help us to listen to and respond to our internal sensations, signals, emotions, and impulses in a process that enables us to live with greater clarity, agency, and vitality.
In sessions with you I centre attunement, safety, respect, connection, autonomy, collaboration, compassion, playfulness, and reverence. I am committed to anti-oppressive practices and the work of transformative justice for collective liberation.
I offer individual and relationship psychotherapy in Ontario and mental health counselling in Québec. I am an NIHB mental health provider in Québec.
